Today I'll be writing about my credit transfer experiences.
I'm a student in Bachelor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, under the Faculty of Economic and Management. So basically all credit transfer procedures needed to be managed within the faculty and the students' management center. In my case, the steps can be shown as below;
1. I know this might be seems as a bother but you NEED to attend the course briefing to identify;
- The study plan for your course
- The credit transfer duration process
- The contacts needed to do credit transfer
- The similar subjects that can be credited
2. Please, please and please don't lose contact with your previous college contact number (haha) because you need the Course Outline for the subjects you took during your Diploma. Oh yes, only Diploma graduates can do transfer credit. I also unsure why STPM, Matric and Foundation level cannot do it.
okay~ back to the topic
- Some of the syllabus that can be credited had been posted on the FEP Board Level 4
- If you got more inquiries, you can directly see the Dean at Level 6, make sure to book an appointment and have the lists of subjects with you (to ease the process)
3. After your syllabus had been identified and you already had the hard copy for your course outline, you need to fill up the form 'Borang Permohonan Permindahan Kredit Secara Menegak' that can be downloaded through SMP Web as shown below;
1. After accessing SMP Web, Click
'Muat Turun Borang-Borang Pusat Pengurusan Akademik'
2. Then download the file
4. For credit transfer, you need to pay RM100 to the 'Bendahari' at
- 'Canselor' Building, or
- 'Pusat Pengurusan Akademik (PPA)' Level 7
You need the receipt to be attached with other documents during submission. The method of payment is using Debit Card only, no cash accepted. So don't forget your card, okay peeps?
5. Make sure all documents are settled and certified. The lists of documents can be listed below;
- 'Borang Permohonan Permindahan Kredit Secara Menegak'
- Copy of transcript (certified)
- Copy of Diploma certificate (certified)
- Course Outline of all subjects to be credited (certified)
- Payment receipt
** make sure to arrange your course outline based on the sequence that you wrote in your form.
** make sure to stapler/clipped your documents
** come during non-peak hour; before 11am / after 3pm
6. Submit your documents. Yeah, finally you submit all your hardwork to the PPA counter at Level 1. Make sure to smile when confronting with the staffs (you won't lose anything by smiling) because maybe, you'll be the one that made their day, who knows?
The process for credit transfer will take about 6 weeks. So you need to be aware of your emails for updates.

Scenarios for add/drop when doing credit transfer.
There are 2 scenarios that you can choose when doing you add/drop;
- Just add everything (including the subject(s) will be credited) and attend all the class until the official announcement for the credit transfer. When the results are out, and your subject(s) had been credited, you need to drop the subject(s) manually at the office.
- When add/drop, exclude the subject(s) that will be credited. The risk here, the subject(s) that you already drop, might be rejected for credit transfer. If this case happen, you need to take the subject at the next semester. But if the credit transfer is a success, then your progress is much faster compared to the rest of the students.
Last procedures, you need to make sure that you settle your add/drop subjects and do the 'Pengesahan Borang Pendaftaran Kursus' at SMP Web afterwards. You just click the 'Sah' button even though your credit transfer result haven't been announced yet.
Guess that is all for now, if I've got more update about this, I'll make sure to post it later. But as for now toodles awesome peeps!
